Innovation for Agriculture attended Dairy-Tech 2026, engaging with dairy farmers, industry professionals and fellow exhibitors to explore the challenges facing dairy businesses and the role of innovation, research and knowledge exchange in supporting practical on-farm decision-making. These conversations provided valuable insight into farmer priorities, from improving efficiency and sustainability to planning for the future.
At our stand, the team discussed how our work supports farmers to make informed decisions and adapt to change. This included sharing updates on key initiatives such as Farm of the Future, Climate Farm Demo and the Calf Action Network, and hearing directly from farmers about their experiences, challenges and opportunities.
Across Dairy-Tech
These discussions reflected the wider focus of Dairy-Tech 2026, where visitors explored technologies, services and ideas designed to support productive, resilient dairy businesses. Solutions ranged from animal health and automation to data-driven tools that improve efficiency and decision-making, with a strong emphasis on approaches that can be applied in practice.
Dedicated hubs and live demonstration areas supported learning and exchange throughout the event. The Innovation Hub highlighted emerging technologies and new approaches, while the Dairy Hub hosted discussions on market trends, policy and farm profitability. Specialist areas such as the Healthy Feet Zone reinforced the importance of animal health and welfare as foundations of successful dairy systems.
Value of events
By connecting farmers with researchers, technology providers and industry organisations, events such as Dairy-Tech continue to play an important role in supporting knowledge exchange and confident decision-making. They provide opportunities to share experience, explore practical solutions and strengthen collaboration across the sector.
Building on this momentum, Innovation for Agriculture is leading the organisation of the Calf Action Conference, a practical one-day event focused on giving calves the best possible start and improving consistency, health and welfare on farm. Taking place at the Hartpury Agri-Tech Centre, the programme includes workshops, on-farm demonstrations and discussion with farmers, calf rearers, vets, researchers and industry experts. Sessions will focus on calf housing, feeding, hygiene, disease management, and the skills and training needed to support the next generation of calf rearers.
