Innovation for Agriculture (IfA) is an independent organisation who work with farmers to develop knowledge that will ensure farming is sustainable, resilient and productive.
IfA connects farmers with farming research by running practical and interactive workshops, farm walks and events to ensure practice with science.
Summary of this role
This is an exciting role working in the delivery team in a variety of projects supporting farmers to respond to current challenges facing the sector. By understanding regenerative principles and relating these to the relevant sector whether that be animal health & welfare, production efficiencies, soil health, water resources, climate emergency and nature friendly farming.
We are expecting applicants to have agricultural experience and qualifications with a background enabling them to interact with farmers and build strong working relationships within the industry.

Job Summary |
This role will be to support the delivery team by working with farmers to identify and adopt best practice via farm events, demonstration events, action groups and meetings. To include GHG audits, action planning and farm visits |

Key responsibilities |
Working with farmers, understanding the importance of systems change regarding carbon, soil health, agroecology and supporting farmer to farmer learning. This role will include the delivery of a variety of projects, engaging with farmers and industry professionals Role will include contribution to the day to day running of IFA dealing with writing copy, media communications and timely reports. |

Person specification
Essential
- Educated to Degree level in Agriculture / Animal Science or related subject.
- Practical agricultural experience with an understanding of UK livestock systems
- Produce reports, newsletter articles, and presentations.
- Team player
- IT skills and use of digital tool experience
- Ability to travel, flexible working hours to cover events and away trips.
- Understanding of Project Management techniques
- Personal and communication skills
- Car and full license
Desirable
- Experience of working with farmers
- Understanding of research process
- Knowledge of regenerative agriculture and climate change
Personal Skills
- Ability to work on your own initiative.
