Four runners are taking on the London Marathon next weekend to support Innovation for Agriculture – helping farmers lead the way in tackling climate change and feeding the nation sustainably.
Arran Redman, Sacha Abbasi, Jonny Grint and Neil Blundell will be taking on the 26.2 mile route through London, including Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf and finishing at St James Park.
This is the first time Innovation for Agriculture has had official charity places for runners to take part in the marathon and fundraise for the charity.
“We’re incredibly proud of everyone running for IfA,” says David Grint, CEO. “Every mile they cover helps us support farmers to build resilient businesses, protect natural resources, and produce food more sustainably. Their effort will translate directly into impact on the ground.”
Neil Blundell, one of the runners, shares that his running has always been done in the countryside. “Stepping onto the hard tarmac of London’s streets for 26.2 miles isn’t just a physical challenge for me — it’s an emotional one. It’s leaving the comfort of open fields to run through one of the busiest cities in the world,” he says.
Each mile run will help Innovation for Agriculture continue its work supporting farmers to adapt to climate change, improve resilience, and deliver sustainable food systems.
If you would like to support the runners and the work of Innovation for Agriculture, you can donate via their JustGiving pages below. Every contribution, large or small, helps turn their effort into meaningful impact for farming and the environment.
