Delivered on behalf of the Royal Agricultural Society of England, IfA will this month launch a two-year knowledge exchange programme working with UK farmers to provide multiple opportunities for them to see, discuss and understand the necessary steps to reach net zero.
The project which has been gratefully funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation will bring to life the key recommendations set out in the 2022 RASE Farm of the Future: Journey to Net Zero report.
The programme, which will be open to all and free to attend, will include:
- Four two-day farm study tours – these will take a group of farmers to various farms and enterprises across the country to explore how net zero farming may work in a practical setting
- The development of three regional farm cluster groups – the farms in each cluster group will work together to implement action plans and goals for their own farms
- Eight farm demonstration events - run across the two years, these events will bring farmers together to see technology and the latest innovations in a real life setting
To support the farm study tours, regional cluster groups and demonstration events, IfA will produce a 'Farm of the Future' guide which will be free to access and which will be given as a take home resource at agricultural shows and events up and down the country.
IfA and RASE would like to give special thanks to the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation for their support in the delivery of this much needed programme for UK farmers.
