The University of Birmingham in collaboration with Innovate UK Business Connect an exciting in-person networking and informative event to learn, connect and discuss the Horizon Europe collaborative research and innovation opportunities, which took place in Birmingham on 13th March.

Horizon Europe is the world’s largest collaborative research programme worth £80bn+ over 7 years (from 2021). It is aimed at driving research excellence, fostering innovation and tackling global challenges through collaborative projects and funding opportunities.

The event offered the opportunity to:

  • Engage with Horizon Europe experts, and get firsthand information.
  • Ask direct questions to our UK National Contact Points in breakout sessions.
  • Connect and share our ideas with potential partners via the networking wall.
  • Learn the most up to date news on Horizon Europe.

Evi Arachoviti was invited as a keynote speaker in the breakout session 3 on Cluster 6 of Horizon Europe on Environment, Food, Natural Resources and Agriculture, to present IfA’s case study insights from participation in Horizon Europe projects.

Our motivation, challenges in getting involved, barriers and hurdles and how they were overcome, benefits for IfA and the community we serve and best practices for participation were further discussed.

Climate Farm Demo Horizon Europe project was presented as a successful example of our involvement in the Horizon Europe and received very positive feedback.
