Farmers are invited to join RASE and Innovation for Agriculture for a two-day Farm of the Future study tour in Devon.
Based at the heart of Dartmoor, this tour will explore the full scope of modern farming, from the high-tech efficiency of dairy robotics and the energy cycle provided by anaerobic digestion (AD) to the basics of farming with nature. The tour contrasts the running of a large, diversified rural estate with the focused impact of a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model and a major horticultural enterprise. Throughout the tour, you'll also examine successful nature-friendly farming practices integrated with servicing the community. There will also be a visit to a unique, globally linked agricultural research facility that connects pioneering science directly to real-world farming challenges.
All meals and overnight accommodation will be provided.
This event is free for farmers, fully funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation. Places are strictly limited and priority will be given to those who have not yet attended a Farm of the Future study tour, but returning applicants are welcome and will be notified if spaces become available.
