Hear from Sam Vincent about his dairy beef system, focusing on the carbon footprint of rearing grass fed beef from dairy cattle. He’ll also discuss the benefits cattle can bring to the Dorset landscape with practices such as conservation grazing.
Rookery Farm is an Organic dairy which champions integrating nature conservation and productive agriculture. Sam’s system supports a range of habitats, such as diverse grasslands, agroforestry and natural flood management, and Sam won Livestock Soil Farmer of the Year in 2021.
Please arrive from 10:30 for an 11:00 start, Sam will take us on a tour before returning to the farmyard for lunch. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
