Wednesday 24 June 2026

Stockyard Melton Mowbray, Scalford Road, Melton Mowbray, LE13 1JY

Farmers: 12:30–2:30pm
Vets: 3:00–5:00pm

We have an opportunity for a small number of beef cattle farmers whose cattle are unhoused for at least six months of the year to participate in a focus group on biosecurity. £50 voucher and lunch included for all farmers that can attend.

For vets, the workshop will be a useful discussion on biosecurity guidance that will contribute towards CPD.

About BIOFRAME

BIOFRAME is a research project led in the UK by the University of Nottingham and Innovation for Agriculture. The project aims to improve how biosecurity guidance is developed and delivered for animal farmers in non-intensive sectors, such as extensive grazing and low-input systems.

We are working with farmers and vets to understand their experiences of different types of biosecurity guidance and to identify what would work better in their farming context. These recommendations will then be tested by farmers in the UK and across Europe.

About the workshop

This event, hosted at Stockyard Melton Mowbray, will bring together non-intensive beef farmers and vets for two small-group workshop sessions to discuss their experiences of, and views on, existing biosecurity guidance. Each session will last up to two hours, with refreshments provided. Farmers will also be able to claim a £50 voucher in recognition of their time.

There will also be opportunities for some farmers to take part in the later stages of the project, including helping to design and test new recommendations.

If you’d like to get involved, please complete the below form and one of our team will get in touch.
