Join us at Home Farm with the Royal Agricultural University to learn the mechanics of making Bokashi work on a dairy farm.
Building on the learnings from the feasibility study Bokashi, Biochar and beyond with Innovate UK, the day will explore how Bokashi can be made from dairy slurry, and the benefits this composting method has for soil health, circular farming systems, profitability and reducing emissions and pollution from slurry.
Farmers Tom Gregory, Debbie Wilkins and Rob Harison will be joined by researchers from the RAU, University of Reading and Organic Research Centre as well as experts from Agriton to share their findings from the project so far, and outline how they hope it will progress in future.
The day will begin with a farm walk, followed by talks and workshops. Wider research projects, such as those being funded by ADOPT will also be discussed throughout the day.
